In spite of all the bad press after her divorce from Kris Humphries, Kim Kardashian is apparently being paid $600,000 to host the annual New Year’s Eve party at Tao in the Venetian in Las Vegas. According to sources, Kim earn 500,000 for the same hosting gig last year, so why the extra $100k current year? It seems that, Tao is also paying the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star to make a some more appearances for them.

Speaking of New Year’s Eve, Kim Kardashian currntly took to Twitter to share her excitement as she posted: “New Year’s Eve is one of my favorite nights of the year. Time to celebrate the whole thing you’ve achieved in the past year and look ahead to everything to come in the New Year… This New Year’s Eve, I’ll be celebrating at Tao in Las Vegas. I can’t wait!” Will she be celebrating the fact that she achieved yet another failure of a marriage? Somehow we don’t think she will be drowning grief about her divorce on New Year’s Eve.

Silence of the Lambs added to US film archive

Oscar-winning 1991 thriller A quiet of the Lambs is to be potted by the US Library of Congress as part of its National Film Registry.
The film - in which Sir Anthony Hopkins made his first entrance as serial killer Hannibal Lecter - was one of 25 new additions announced.
Others added Forrest Gump starring Tom Hanks, characteristic Disney animation Bambi and Charlie Chaplin's The Kid.
The titles were selected from 2,228 films chosen by the public.
Every new entrance must be measured "culturally, in the past or aesthetically" important in order to be added to the registry.
Other additions include the 1979 Sally Field film Norma Rae, Robert Rodriguez's 1992 debut mark El Mariachi and the 1953 report of War of the Worlds.
They are connected by such lesser-known titles as A Computer Animated Hand - a one-minute film made in 1972 that is one of the first examples of 3D computer animation.
The oldest additions are silent films dating from 1912. One documents the pre-World War I child labour reform movement, while the other is a farce beginning comic actor John Bunny.
Gump, which won Hanks his second Oscar for best actor in 1995, is the most latest of the new additions.
"These films are chosen because of their lasting significance to American culture," said James H Billington, who has been the US Congress librarian since 1987.
"Our film tradition must be secluded because these cinematic treasures document our history and culture and reproduce our hopes and dreams."

Giuliana Rancic returns to work after cancer surgery

Two weeks after undergoing a dual mastectomy and reconstructive surgery, Giuliana Rancic was came back on the set at "E! News" on Tuesday.

"Even though I motivated a tad slower than usual today, each one welcomed me back with open arms and it was a wonderful return," she says in a statement on the network's Web site.

Rancic, 37, had the surgery December 13 after lumpectomies failed to eradicate her breast cancer.
"It feels very good to be back at work," she says. "I confused whether I was going to return to 'E! News' this week or after the new year. The last thing I desired to do was rush my healing."

She also said "Thankfully, I've been feeling much better each single day since surgery and this weekend my doctors allow me to get back to work."

Mission: Impossible 4 - Ghost Protocol', Tom Cruise Inspiration

The efforts of Renner and his co-stars, as well as British favourite Simon Pegg, have been pleased, with Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol garnering the best reviews so far of the lucrative series, with particular praise set aside for the gravity-defying stunts.

Renner's character he describes as "a reluctant hero, a bit fearful" - is the chief analyst for the IMF, thrown into the throes of a major world crisis and forced to team up with Ethan.

Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol leads US cinemas

The fourth installment in the Mission: Impossible permit has taken the number one mark at the US box office over the four-day Christmas weekend.

Ghost Protocol, starring Tom Cruise, made $46.2m (£29.5m) and boosted Sherlock Holmes into second spot.

The fight movie came in third place last week after making its entrance at a limited number of screens.

Steven Spielberg's Tintin and War Horse appears on chart at five and seven correspondingly.

The director's action capture version of the Belgian boy adventurer, which has proved a box office hit around the world, made a self-effacing $16.1m (£10.2m) on its Christmas starting in North America.

In the meantime, Spielberg's version of Michael Morpurgo's book about a horse who is sent to fight during World War I, started business on Sunday and took $15m (£9.5m).

But both films were outshone by the US report of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, with appears on chart at number four.

The gritty film, directed by David Fincher and based on the first book of late Swedish novelist Stieg Larsson's trilogy, made $19.4m (£12.4m), in spite of not being feel-good Christmas fare.

But the movie was compressed to third place by family animation Alvin and The Chipmunks: Chip wrecked, which raked in a total of $20m (£12.7m).

Mission Impossible inside the top 10 were We Bought a Zoo - start Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson - in sixth place, and Darkest Hour at eight.

Fashion 101 airs on TV3

The fashion industry in Ghana has been given a major boost as a new, interactive, educative, entertaining and viewer-friendly television show Fashion 101, hits the screens next weekend.

Hosted by the ever gorgeous and stunning Sandra Ankobiah, Miss Ghana 2002 Runner-Up, the 30-minute show makes its first screen appearance on Saturday December 31, 8:30am, on TV3, and would air every weekend.

At a special press briefing to launch the programme in Accra on Tuesday, the producers said they were upbeat about the success of a show that from all indications is going to be a major talking point over the coming weeks that the first 13 episodes would be shown.

Viewers would be treated to an exciting show that would help them to be conscious of the various fashion blunders and statements they make on daily basis knowingly and unknowingly, among other finer details that are usually taken for granted.

“Fashion 101 shall be a leading fashion programme which will capture millions, providing its audience with real fashion direction throughout Africa and beyond,” the producers have said.

On a typical Fashion 101 edition, a four-member panel comprising Chester Annie, Sandra the host and two others, will critique Ghanaian celebrities on their style of dressing, make-up, and hairstyle at any event.

“Basically, we will try and make sense of what celebrity A or B wears, and also try to appreciate why they chose to dress in a particular way,” says Sandra.

The second part of the programme will see a visibly out of tune fashion victim, completely given a new look and appeal. Every week, a Ghanaian designer provides the clothing for this segment, and the make-up is done by some of the industry’s finest.

“On every edition, a lucky individual would get that unique opportunity of having a complete make-over done on him or her. Here, what we would be looking out for, is how the person looked before and after the makeover, and also, whether fashion has been giving a meaning or not,” Sandra added.

Even before Saturday’s maiden edition, expectations for Fashion 101 across the industry are very high, with most stakeholders commending the producers for the uniqueness and freshness the show offers.

Apart from giving fashion a breath of fresh air in Ghana, the producers also “aim to promote Ghanaian fashion designers and encourage them to create trends for Ghana and the international market”.

Fashion 101 is executive produced by Emerald Paradise Productions, of which Sandra is the CEO, and supported by the Aviation Social Centre, Wardrobe Essentials, Ark Accessories and Tracy J.

Green is this season's color at Nigeria Fashion Week

Nigeria Fashion Week has always featured bold colors, but this year the focus was on one color in particular -- green.
For the first time in its eight years, Nigeria Fashion Week showcased a collection specifically to create awareness of environmental issues.
"The whole world is going green and that means the whole world is thinking about sustaining our environment," said Lexy Mojo-Eyes, president of Nigeria Fashion Week. "We thought this is our little contribution."
He added: "We came up with the idea of Nigeria Fashion Week 'Going Green.' That means asking designers, expecting designers, to use recycled fashion accessories to be able to make collections that will help us project the idea of going green, to help us bring awareness to people in Nigeria about the importance of a sustainable environment."

Haters Launch Petition to Take the Kardashians Off Television

What do Change.org and Occupy Wall Street have in common with some Kardashian haters? They are well organized community trying to get something done — in the Kardashian case, they need the reality clan off of television for good!
"In a grass roots effort, we have collected number of signatures for a petition asking E! Entertainment to remove the Kardashian suite of shows from their programming," petition organizer Cyndy Snider said in a statement. "We realize that these shows are mostly staged and place an emphasis on vanity, greed, promiscuity, vulgarity and over-the-top conspicuous consumption."
The petition — available at GoPetition.com — is just one of the organized efforts to get the Kardashian/Jenner clan off television screens, clothes, and perfume and nail polish bottles everywhere. Websites and Facebook pages are also calling for their ouster.

"While some may have stated watching the spectacle as mindless entertainment or as a sort of 'reality satire,' it is a bad truth that lot pf people young people are looking up to this family and are modeling their appearance and behavior after them," Snider continued. "I'll remind you here that the Kardashian family fame begun with a 'leaked' sex tape."
There's even a petition to get Kim Kardashian's role scrapped in the upcoming Tyler Perry film "Marriage Counselor." Comments on the talk of his website range from mild to pure outrage over her casting.
"I really disliked your decision to keep Kim K. in your movie. She is not agree to herself and her family. She is a role model and her fans are disappointed. Let her go. I guarantee she will bring down grade your rating. Dump her," Marcell Troupe wrote.
Another fan gave a foolproof way to get in his movie.
"ATTENTION PEOPLE!!! Stop asking for handouts or to be in his next movie!! Don't you know Just make a SEX TAPE and he will cast you in his coming movie no matter what his fans think!!!!!!! Kim K did so can you! :)" Jeromy wrote.
Yowza. Kardashian is reportedly working with acting coach Susan Batson to get improvement her skills for her role as a woman actually working on her failing marriage — something she knows nothing about.
"Kim had been confident about the movie, but with current events she has been worried that the stress of her real life would show through," an insider told Life & Style magazine. "So that's what Susan was there for."

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has baby girl

Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has given birth to a baby girl, her husband Abhishek Bachchan ha been announced on Twitter on Wednesday.

While the baby's father just said "it's a girl," her great grandfather Amitabh Bachchan -- a famous actor and head of Bollywood's most famous family -- could barely contain his joy.

"I AM DADA (grandfather) to the cutest baby girl!!" the 69-year-old Bachchan tweeted.

No more details were immediately available.

Rai, 38, a former Miss World, has been married to actor Abhishek Bachchan for more than four years and the star couple had been fending off baby rumours for months before the pregnancy was confirmed by doctors in June.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had been expected to give birth to her first child in November, and the Indian media followed her pregnancy obsessively.

She was admitted to a Mumbai hospital on Monday night.

Rai, who often features on "most beautiful" lists, achieved the Miss World crown in 1994. She has successful Bollywood career with hits such as "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam" and "Devdas."

According to news report Pippa Middleton is a unmarried. The 28-year-old sister of the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton has split with her long-term boyfriend, cricket player turned financier Alex Loundon, after a series of fights in current weeks.

"[Pippa] and Alex split briefly in the summer — but this time it's over," a source tells the Sun. "They are barely speaking."

But a source tells The Sun that Prince Harry was at the crux of the couple's demise. "she said after the wedding that Alex was jealous of Pippa flirting with Prince Harry," the source said. Danica McKellar

Former "Wonder Years" star Danica McKellar and Olympic speed-skating champion Apolo Ohno will co-star in the upcoming Syfy telefilm "Tasmanian Devil," the network announced Friday.

The movie, which will premiere on Syfy coming year, will start production in British Columbia this month, via Vesuvius Productions.

Kenneth Mitchell, who played Deputy Mayor Eric Green on the post-apocalyptic series "Jericho," would be also star in the film.

The film's plot have a group of BASE jumpers who travel to an isolated Tasmanian national park in search of extreme-sports thrills, but end up being pursued by grizzly bear-sized Tasmanian Devils, who perform as the lands' protectors.

Ohno, who won gold medals at both the 2002 and 2006 Olympic games, has dabbled in show-business matters, having won season four of "Dancing With the Stars" with partner Julianne Hough.

Billy Crystal to host Oscars after Eddie Murphy quits

Billy Crystal will host the 2012 Academy Awards after the departure of Eddie Murphy, the original host.

The 63-year-old actor has previously hosted the Oscars nine times, most recently in 2004.
He said some of the remember able moments of my career have happened on the Oscar stage.
In past Eddie Murphy scheduled to host the show, but he pulled out following the departure of producer and friend Brett Ratner.
Mr Ratner resigned from producing the TV broadcast of the ceremony amid criticism of his use of a derogatory term for gay men.
Crystal joked on Twitter that he is presenting next year's show "so the women in the pharmacy will stop asking my name when I pick up my prescriptions".
Academy president Tom Sherak named the actor "a comic legend and Oscar icon."
"It feels healthy to have him back where he belongs," he added.
Brian Grazer, the Oscar-winning producer of A Beautiful Mind - and frequent collaborator of director Ron Howard, will replace Ratner as producer.
This year's ceremony was hosted by the film star duo of Anne Hathaway and James Franco.

Madonna leak

Madonna's manager Guy Oseary has said Madona was "very angry" that a demo of her new song "Give Me All Your Love" had leaked onto the Internet.

The song, which hit the web on Wednesday and has been listened to by people around the world, is expected to be the debut track from Madonna's upcoming album, her first studio release since leaving Warner Bros to join Live Nation.

"Madonna told me this morning 'my true fans wouldn't do this'... whoever is responsible for this leak, we ask that you please stop!" Oseary wrote via Twitter.

"I would be very happy with the positive reaction to the demo, but we are very upset with whoever steal the song!!!!!!!!" he added.

Addressing questions tweeted by fans, Oseary said the new album should be finished "in the coming month or so," and that it did not yet have a title.

He added that the 53 year-old star, whose hits include "Like a Virgin," "Vogue" and "Hung Up," had penned a "beautiful ballad" for her movie "W.E.."

The picture, Madonna's second feature film as director, follows the life of Wallis Simpson, the American divorcee whose relationship with King Edward VIII sparked a constitutional crisis in Britain and led to his abdication.

The film, which had its world premiere at the Venice film festival, hits U.S. theaters in December and British cinemas in January.

Madonna's new record would be her first studio album since 2008's "Hard Candy," which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart in the United States.

In 2007, Madonna reject her long-time music label Warner Bros and signed a deal with concert promoter Live Nation reported to be for 10 years and worth $120 million.

The deal, part of a recent trend in the struggling music industry, involved not only record sales, but also touring and merchandising.

Heavy D dead

Hip hop artist Heavy D died today (November 8th) in age of 44. The "Now That We Found Love" singer was best known for his work in the R&B scene, but the Jamaican-born Heavy D was a known quantity on the screen as well. Indeed, his performance as actor can be seen as currently as "Tower Heist," the Brett Ratner-directed and Eddie Murphy-starring comedy currently playing in theaters.

"Life"
It's only fitting that one of Heavy D's earliest screen appearances has a strong link to his final bow: he starred in the 1999 comedy "Life" opposite future "Tower Heist" co-star Eddie Murphy. The movie was also produced by "Heist" producer Brian Grazer. D began in "Life" alongside a who's who of comedians, including Murphy, Martin Lawrence, Anthony Anderson and Bernie Mac.

"The Cider House Rules"
Heavy's personality and presence lent itself easily to comedy, but he was well known to award-winning fare either: he played Peaches in "The Cider House Rules," the 1999 Oscar contender about a young man's connection to an orphanage during World War II.

"Boston Public"
Heavy D had start an acting on the small screen as well as the big one. He had a recurring role on Fox's high school drama "Boston Public" as Bob "Big Boy" Lick, the school's compassionate guidance counselor. D appeared in 13 episodes of the TV series from 2000 through 2003.

"Hitch"
OK, OK, so Mr. D wasn't actually in this comedy, but "Now That We Found Love," provided the musical tapestry upon which Will Smith and Kevin James boogied in the final wedding scene. Try as we might, we can't hate "Hitch." And we will always dig early '90s rap.

"Tower Heist"
His last appearance was brief, but rememberable : Heavy D had a cameo appearance in this last weekend's "Tower Heist" as a courthouse guard. Nothing too fancy, but he was surrounded by fantastic actors and previous collaborators in his final cinematic effort.

Bond film called Skyfall

The title of the 23rd James Bond film has been named as Skyfall.

The latest 007 adventure will star Daniel Craig for the third time. Leading ladies have been confirmed as French actress Berenice Marlohe and Naomie Harris.

Skyfall is being directed by Sam Mendes, who won an Oscar for 1999's American Beauty.

Mendes said the storyline will act as secret agent to London, China, Turkey and Scotland.

It will see Bond's loyalty tested to M, his superior, while espionage headquarters MI6 faces an attack.

The movie, which sees the return of Dame Judi Dench as spy boss M, would also star Ralph Fiennes, Albert Finney and Javier Bardem as the villain of the piece.

It would be released in the England on 26 October 2012.

Craig told reporters in London that the cast would start filming sequences for the new movie later on Thursda

Much speculation about the new film has focused on what Mendes will bring to the franchise, with some suggesting he will tone down - or even abandon altogether - the action sequences.

But the director defused that this was the case. He told reporters in London that the "fantastic script" had "all the elements of a classic Bond movie, including - to quell any rumours - lots of action".

When asked what fans could expect from the latest film, he added: "The movie would reveal everything, and there's lots of surprises."

Producer Barbara Broccoli said no-one had yet been chosen to write and perfom the Bond theme tune.

Kim Kardashian

Seventy-two days after tying-the-knot in an over-the-top, self-proclaimed “it was like we were in heaven” wedding, Kim Kardashian has filed for divorce from her NBA star husband, kris Humphries.

But Humphries claims he was blindsided by the divorce filing, and told TMZ he still is "want to continue his marriage and everything this covenant represents.” So now it's Kardashian whose reputation will be in trouble, with many questioning whether she got married for purpose of making money.

The reality television sensation reportedly scored deep discounts and freebies for the August 20 affair in exchange for promoting the products – including her 20.5 carat wedding ring. E! Entertainment aired a two-part special on the occasion, both entered into a high-priced deal with People Magazine for the exclusive wedding photos, and then cashed-in with an Us Weekly exclusive from their post-nuptial getaway.

When all was said and done, Kardashian is believed to earned $18 million from the occasion – which comes out to about $250,000 per day of not-so-wedded bliss.

“Many people will feel used—from the media to the public. And considering her marriage can be counted more easily in days, it smacks of a stunt,” crisis management expert Glenn Selig on The Publicity Agency told FOX411’s Pop Tarts column. “It will, without a doubt, hurt her brand because people would feel like they’ve been played and duped.”

“There’s a best chance that because of the success she has had, she’s become sloppy, feeling like everything she touches turns to gold,” Selig added. “It seems hard to believe that the marriage was for real given the fact that it ended so quickly. And she made so much money on it.”

On Monday, Kardashian released a statement committing that after “careful consideration,” she make decision to end the nuptials, and that while she had hoped the marriage would “last forever, sometimes things don’t work out as planned.”

But the reality star would not use the typically emotionally-draining process of a divorce stop her from making bank. Kardashian spent the weekend glamming up with red hair and an uber-sexy dress as “Poison Ivy” while hosting a Midori-sponsored Halloween party at Lavo in New York City, and is heading to Australia this week to launch her handbag line, before continuing on to Atlanta for an acting role in Tyler Perrys ironically-titled forthcoming film, “The Marriage Counselor.”

“Merrage between Kim Kardashian-Kris Humphries marriage was  business deal, going in and will prove to be one, going out,” Debra Opri, one of Hollywood's leading divorcetrial lawyers, told Pop Tarts. “Look at the timing. They had planned the wedding in world record time to occur during the NBA's off-season, sold their wedding to the highest bidder (People Magazine) and timed the broadcast 'unveil' to garner skyrocketing ratings. Like everything the Kardashians’ do, the marriage was strategically planned, from start to end."

Another Kardashian insider isn’t shocked by the swirling rumors that it was all a strategically planned affair. “She prepare a sex tape, did Playboy for money and now it seems a wedding for money,” the insider told us. “Where is the line drawn?”

A rep for Kardashian did not respond for comment.

But Gene Grabowski of Levick Strategic Communications said that the divorce could actually enhance Kim's brand, and isn’t likely to do any real long-term damage as she wasn’t taken particularly seriously in the first place.

“Kim’s quick divorce increases her brand because she’s all about being outrageous and over the top. The divorce keeps Kim in the public eye and guarantees her another week of cover stories,” he said. “Kim isn’t taken seriously by anyone. Her life, like that of Paris Hilton or Britney Spears, is a curiosity that gives everyday people something surprising to talk about at work, at parties or at the hair dresser. And it’s that surreal, vicarious, even reckless life that makes her image so marketable among young people who wouldn’t dare behave that way, but who are excited by the idea of doing so.”

Her parents divorced when she returned from U.K to live with her mother in Las Vegas, where she joined the Las Vegas Academy. After a year, she shifted back to Utah to live with her father and graduated from Alta high school. She then moved to Los Angeles to start her career in Entertainment.

Julianne first time got a job as a dancer on the ABC game show "Show Me The Money" in 2006. She thetendn went on tour as a company dancer with Dancing with the stars and at the cast of "Dancing with the Stars" (2005/I) in season four.

Julianne is also known as a country singer. She released her debut album in 2008, debut at #1 on the Billboard Country Album chart and #3 on the Billboard 200.

First time she appear as actor in Harry Potter and Sorcerer's Stone in 2001 at age 13. She is appearing in her first lead role in Footloose in 2011.
